St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert reported the following arrests:

—Kyle M. Gregory, 27, of Duval Street in Amelia, was arrested at 5:42 p.m. Wednesday at Walmart in Bayou Vista, on a charge of theft. A deputy responded to a complaint of theft at the store. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store security that Gregory was observed taking a DVD and a pair of headphones out of the packaging and then leaving the store without paying for the items. He was released on a summons to appear in court on Feb. 27, 2013.

—Krystal Meranta, 23, of Clarke Road in Bayou Vista, was arrested at 2:06 a.m. today on a charge of aggravated battery. A deputy responded to a complaint of a battery at Temptation’s Lounge in Amelia. Upon arrival, the deputy learned that Meranta and the female victim had been arguing. During the course of the investigation the deputy observed surveillance video of Meranta striking the victim in the head with the heel end of a high heel shoe. The victim was treated by Acadian Ambulance. Meranta was taken to the parish jail and held. No bail has been set.

Morgan City Assistant Police Chief Glenn Blanco reported the following arrest:

—Shawn M. Pollard, 26, of Park Street in Patterson, was arrested at 3:34 p.m. Wednesday in Morgan City and charged with a city court warrant for failure to appear to pay fees from a shoplifting case. Pollard was jailed and released on a $115 bail.

Patterson Police Chief Patrick LaSalle reported the following arrest:

—Peter Henry, 37, Live Oak Street in Patterson, was arrested at 11:40 p.m. Wednesday on a charge of driving under suspension. He was taken to jail and held. His bail is set at $316.

Berwick Police Chief James Richard reported no arrests.
