A Bayou Vista woman was arrested Wednesday for having sex with a juvenile, according to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert.
Kayla Eve Bonnette, 23, of Teche Road, Bayou Vista, was arrested at 2:52 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Mary Parish sheriff’s office in Morgan City on a warrant for felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile, Hebert said.
The sheriff’s office received a complaint on Aug. 21 of Bonnette having sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old male, Hebert said. She was released on a $5,000 bail.
The juvenile with whom Bonnette is alleged to have had sexual intercourse is her boyfriend’s cousin, and the alleged incident occurred at the boy’s father’s residence, Hebert said. The mother of the boy made the complaint to the sheriff’s office, Hebert said. Hebert would not disclose how the mother knew of the incident, which is alleged to have occurred in June, Hebert said.
