Ty Dartez of Architects Design Studio told Hospital Service District 1 commissioners Thursday that the settlement of the dirt pad will take two to three months, at which time the project will be ready to go out for bids.
The medical clinic will house Drs. Donna Tesi and Steven McPherson’s practices with space for additional physicians.
In other discussions during the board’s monthly meeting, Chief Executive Officer Parker Templeton said the former hospital building has been reappraised at a lower value than the first appraisal three years ago. The facility was appraised in 2009 at $200,000 but included two medical offices that are still in use, he said. The new appraisal that eliminates those offices resulted in a “significant reduction in appraised value” he said. “I’m not ready to publish that appraisal just yet.” Minutes from the board’s finance committee meeting Wednesday indicate that a bid quote has been sought from an auction company and two investment groups have shown interest in the building.
A $49,544 profit was realized in April as compared to $106,653 in budget projections, according to Chief Financial Officer Ron Bailey. The year-to-date bottom line is $368,010, which is ahead of the budget projected at $174,160.
