The teen, from Bayou Vista, also was charged at 3:46 p.m. with two counts of illegal possession of stolen things and illegal possession of tobacco products, Sheriff Mark Hebert said.
The boy was brought into the Morgan City sheriff's office substation for an investigation into thefts. After his arrest, he was processed and released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Elsewhere, Bruce Matherne, 45, of Ethel Street in Lockport was arrested Wednesday at 11:43 p.m. for hit and run.
A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed Matherne's vehicle back into another vehicle at the Chevron station and leave the scene. The deputy stopped the vehicle and, following an investigation, arrested Matherne before issuing him a summons to appear in court.
In Morgan City, the November Rain arrests continue to trickle in.
Brian K. Johnson, 18, of Fourth Street in Morgan City was charged at 3:19 p.m. Wednesday on a warrant for distribution of crack cocaine.
Chief Marc Folse said the warrant charges Johnson with selling cocaine to an undercover narcotics agent during the long-term investigation known as November Rain.
He was located in the North Third Street area by investigators. Johnson was booked into City Jail where he remained this morning in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
