PINEVILLE – A 9-year-old boy was killed when his ATV flipped east of here about midnight Friday.

Jason Paul Ross was driving the four-wheeler with his father riding on the back when the machine flipped backward and the youth was hit in the head.

The accident, on the night before the opening of the fall squirrel hunting season, happened at Little Pine Hunting Club off La. Highway 3128, known locally as the Papermill Cutoff Road between La. 28 East and La. 107 East.
