Dominique B. Thomas received the recognition during the International Zumba Instructors Convention in Orlando, Fla., in July.
Thomas was one of more than 7,000 Zumba instructors gathered worldwide at the event.
In achieving her certification, she became the 15th Louisiana instructor licensed to teach Aqua Zumba.
Also, Thomas and 162 other instructors were awarded a special charm bracelet for completing all Zumba licenses within a year.
Thomas currently is licensed to teach Zumba, Zumba Toning, Zumba Gold, Zumbatomics, ZIC (Zumba in the Circuit for Curves) and now Aqua Zumba.
Additionally, Thomas was one of 1,000 instructors selected to be in the Sentao class demonstration, which was filmed for the upcoming Zumba infomercial. Sentao means to “sit down” in Portuguese but you’re not sitting. It’s a total body workout. Beto Perez, creator of Zumba Fitness, taught the class.
TRI CITY ZUMBA began in October 2009 and offers classes for all ages, shapes, sizes and levels.
