A proclamation and resolution of respect were passed Tuesday by the Berwick Town Council in honor of Lillian Streva Russo, who dedicated 34 years of service to the Berwick Volunteer Fire Department as part of its Ladies Auxiliary. Streva, who turns 90-years-old this week, was the wife of the late Joe Russo, a longtime volunteer firefighter with the department who has a fire station in the Golden Farms Subdivision named in his memory. The fire department dedicated a meeting hall in the V.J. Bella Central Fire Station on Canton Street to Lillian Russo earlier this week. At that dedication, from left, are Bella, Russo and BVFD Chief Mike Touchet.
