WHILE IT APPEARS that an Ascension Christian pitcher may have tagged Central Catholic's Dominick Guarisco on this play down the first base line during Monday's non-district contest, the umpire ruled Guarisco safe at first base on the play because he said the pitcher missed the tag. The Eagles won the contest, 9-1, and now will await their playoff seeding, which wil be announced Wednesday.

THE MORGAN CITY 4x400 meter relay team was crowned District 8-4A champions at the district track meet at South Terrebonne High School in Bourg last week. The squad posted a time of 3:32.68 to win the event. Team members include Tierell Jones, Rickey Moore, Kentrall Gray and Brett LeBouef. With the squad is coach Gary Johnson.
