Raedyance Johnson, sub-bantam girl, went 9-feet-5-inches in the long jump placing eighth; Deja Walker, sub-midget girl qualified in the 1,500-meter race walk placing fourth; Trenton Renthrope, young men, qualified in the 110-meter hurdles placing seventh; Olympian Julian Maze, intermediate boys, went 43-foot-3.75-inches in the triple jump becoming Region 8 Triple Jump champion for the third year.
“Greater St. Mary Athletics’ mission is to train youth in the area of physical fitness, maintaining a healthy lifestyle and setting goals to become successful adults,” coach Erric Lockley Sr. said.
Lockley has coached track and field at Morgan City Junior High and Centerville.
“Our athletes compete on a national level. Locally, an athlete may be the best at his or her school,” he said. “In the club, we compete against the best, which pushes our athletes to become even better and prepares them to compete on the college level.”

Young Men — 200-meter dash: Laroy Gant ran a 22.29; Rashawn Washington ran 23.22; Austin Perry ran a 23.63; Josiah Gier ran a 24.40. 110-meter hurdles: Trenton Renthrope ran a 16.08. 4x100m relay (Gier, Washington, Perry, Gant) DQ 3rd exchange.
Intermediate Girls — Ariel Trimm ran a 28.99 in the 200-meter dash and a 1 minute, 15.85 second time in the 400-meter dash.
Sub-Midget — Deja Walker finished fourth in the 1500-meter racewalk.
Bantam — Jadyn Walker ran a 16.08 in the 100-meter dash.
Sub-Bantam — Sherique Walker ran a 15.61 in the 100-meter dash; Johnson ran a 16.96 in the 100, a 1:51.36 in the 400 and had a jump of 2.88-meters in the long jump.
