Eagles go undefeated at basketball team camp

Central Catholic’s basketball team traveled to Thibodaux this past weekend to play in the Capitol One Summer Hoop Fest team camp at E.D. White.

The Eagles started the event with a close 46-43 win over Terrebonne with Lloyd Grogan scoring 23 points and Dontrell Brown added 10.

In the second game, the Eagles beat South Lafourche, 62-47, with three players scoring in double figures. Grogan led the way with 15, Brown had 14, and Josh Singleton had 12 points.

The Eagles finished up Friday’s games with a 49-42 win over St. Charles with Grogan scoring 16 and Brown adding 12.

On Saturday, the Eagles started off with a 60-44 win over Houma Christian with Grogan leading the team with 18 points and Brown adding 14.

In the second game Saturday, Grogan led the team with 17 points in a 43-37 win over Karr.

The Eagles kept up their strong play in the last game with a 51-35 win over St. Thomas Aquinas that saw Grogan rattle off 26 points along with Nicholas Case adding 10 points.

The Eagles have stayed busy this summer with the E.D. White summer league, which wraps up this week. Central Catholic will play E.D. White tonight at 6 p.m. and their last game is against in-town rival Morgan City at 6 p.m. on Tues-day.
