The 14th East St. Mary Relay for Life was held Saturday at the Morgan City Junior High School gym. Teams raised approximately $67,000 for the American Cancer Society. The all-night event included a Survivors’ Lap, a parade of “countries” (teams), food booths, a scavenger hunt and other games. “Our teams, volunteers, committees and ACS staff worked extremely hard this year through difficult situations to help raise funds to fight the battle against cancer,” said Michael Knobloch, event chairman. “We are so proud of everyone for their commitment to Relay, to fighting cancer and to the idea of creating more birthdays!”
