THE ST. MARY PARISH 4-H Program ended the 4-H school year on Friday, March 6 with a 4-H Field Day at Kemper-Williams Park in Patterson. Approximately 350 4-H members from the parish participated in the field day, which featured several physical activities to promote a healthier lifestyle, and included a tour of the Louisiana State Museum. The 4-H’ers toured the Wedell-Williams Aviation Collection (above) and the Cypress Sawmill Collection featured at the museum. For most 4-H members, it was their first time touring the museum. The “Let’s Dance” dance group performed at lunchtime for the 4-H’ers and shared their dance moves with the 4-H’ers and their leaders. Below, 4-H members and leaders alike took to the floor to line dance with the dance group. 4-H’ers had several different physical activities to choose from. Members of the 4-H Jr. Leadership Club were on hand to lead the 4-H’ers in old-fashioned fun. The 4-H’ers participated in volleyball games, Frisbee throwing contests, double jump rope, fun jumps, hop scotch, kick ball, and face painting. The day ended with the 4-H Fashion Review Style Show followed by end of the year 4-H Awards.
