ZACHARY – A father was allegedly stabbed several times when he attempted to break up a fight between his two brawling sons, one of whom is charged with attempted second-degree murder.

Police said Frank Roberts, III, 18, was charged after the incident which occurred late Tuesday afternoon.

They said the teen and his 14-year-old brother were fighting when the father intervened. The son picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed the father in the face and neck, they alleged.

Horace Clay, 59, was listed in critical but stable condition at an area hospital.

The younger brother was injured in the fight but no charges regarding those injuries have been filed.
