Shortly after 9 a.m. today, a head-on collision occurred on Victor II Boulevard in Morgan City near the intersection with Cottonwood. It appeared that the driver of a gold Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck, heading north, crossed into the path of a blue southbound Toyota Corolla. The impact caused one of the vehicles to catch fire, which was quickly extinguished by Morgan City Fire Department personnel. The female driver of the Corolla was extracted from her vehicle. Both drivers were transported by Acadian Ambulance Service to Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City. MCPD handled the accident; no official information was available at press time.
