Join Patricia Charpentier at the Baldwin Branch of the St. Mary Parish Library on Monday at 5:30 p.m. as she guides you in writing the story only you can write.

Taken from her latest book, Eating an Elephant: Write Your Life One Bite at a Time, Patricia will share tips and techniques gathered from her many years of teaching and writing personal and family history.

“Learn how to get going, where to start—it’s not necessarily at the beginning—what to do to bring people to life on the page and leave with the confidence in knowing that you absolutely cannot do this wrong,” Charpenteir says. “Enjoy this fun, lively, hands-on presentation and leave inspired.”

Now residing in Orlando, Florida, Patricia has helped hundreds of people write their life stories by teaching, editing and writing personal and family history. Her book is a finalist for the Florida Writers Association Royal Palm Award and is scheduled for release on Sep. 1. She holds a masters degree in creative writing from the University of Central Florida and a B.A. in journalism from LSU.
