The Franklin Golden Age Club held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, July 19 at the Franklin Recreation Center with twenty-five members in attendance. Club President Joyce Champagne opened the meeting. Floyd LeBlanc said the prayer and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Treasurer Floyd LeBlanc gave the treasury report and Secretary EmmaDel Broussard read the minutes.

Voting was completed for “Member of the Year.” The member selected will be announced at the August meeting.

Returning as member of the club is Virgie Price.

An invitation was received from Earline Liner and Margie DeHart with the Morgan City 49’ers Golden Age Club inviting members to their Golden Age Coronation Ball to be held Saturday, August 20 at the St. Mary AARP Building in Morgan City from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Members are encouraged to attend.

Congratulations to Alton and EmmaDel Broussard, celebrating their 56th wedding anniversary on July 17.

Plans are still underway for the club’s fundraiser to be held Saturday, October 8. More information will be given at the August meeting.

Celebrating a birthday in July was Howard Winston.

The next monthly meeting will be held Tuesday, August 16 and will include a covered dish meal.
