Deputies say 41-year-old Antoine Addison of Amite was pronounced dead at the scene by the Tangipahoa Parish Coroner.
According to a news release, several deputies responded to a burglary in progress about 9 p.m. Sunday in Hammond.
Police arrested Odell Pratt, a 45-year-old Independence woman, for driving Addison to the scene.
Pratt was booked with being a principal to aggravated burglary and being a principal to attempted first-degree murder.
