According to Iota school officials, a man wearing a mask, wig and a belt with knives and an ax on it entered the school this morning, being detained inside until Acadia deputies arrived.

Garrett West, 21, of Basile was persuaded by principal Debra Seibert, to remove the weapons-laden belt and he did.

She asked him to remove his mask and at that point recognized West as a former student.

Observers reported she took him into an office where she talked with him and called in another teacher who he wanted to talk with.

Deputies said West will be charged with two counts of terrorism.
