The system is utilized by municipalities or parish officials to alert an area as small as a single street of a water break, or the entire parish of an evacuation order.
Patterson residents, in particular, are asked to register as the municipality has just come online with the system.
To register, visit https://alertregistration.com/StMaryParish or go to the parish’s Office of Emergency Preparedness website http://www.stmaryohsep.org and follow the link for the emergency notification system at the right.
If you do not have Internet capabilities, call your municipality’s city hall or the OEP office at 337-828-4100, ext. 135.
