Rachel Carinhas, a 2011 graduate of Patterson High School, recently received a scholarship in the amount of $10,500 from the Horatio Alger Association. Carinhas is one of 50 high school graduates in the state of Louisiana to be awarded this scholarship. She is the daughter of James and Mary Carinhas of Patterson.
