A Morgan City man was arrested on numerous charges after causing a large disturbance at the Patterson Truck Plaza.

John Hanley, 48, of South Railroad Avenue was arrested Monday at 9:32 a.m. for disturbing the peace intoxicated, disturbing the peace obscene language, two counts of resisting a police officer, six counts of public intimidation, five counts of threatening a public official and resisting an officer by refusing to give booking information.

Hanley was located sitting next to the building and was detained while investigation was conducted. The deputy spoke to complainants and witnesses who advised Hanley was using profanity and asking customers for money, Sheriff Mark Hebert said.

When the deputy attempted to speak with suspect about the incident, he began cursing again and refusing to cooperate. Hanley had to be physically subdued to be arrested, Hebert said.

He was booked into the parish jail where he remained this morning with no bond set.

Tyler E. Brewer, 19, of Louisa Street in Patterson was arrested Monday at 3:45 p.m. for second degree battery on a juvenile.

Detectives were investigating a complaint of a fight that occurred Sunday at the Bayou Vista McDonalds in which the victim was assaulted by Brewer, who then left the area, the sheriff said.

Brewer was located at his residence and brought in for questioning. He then was booked into the parish jail where he posted a $5,000 bond and was released.

Jermaine Keys, 25, of Grace Street in Amelia was arrested today at 1:20 a.m. for resisting an officer by giving false information and on a warrant for Lafourche Parish for contempt of court on the charges of resisting an officer, unauthorized entry of a critical infrastructure and probation violation.

A deputy was called to Grace Street to investigate a disturbance. The investigation revealed that Keys was intoxicated causing a disturbance. He gave the deputy a false name, and it was later learned that he had a warrant out for his arrest, Hebert said

Keys was booked into the parish jail where he remained this morning in lieu of a $51,000 bond.

In Patterson, Chief Patrick LaSalle said Ciara Williams, 23, of Third Street in Morgan City was charged Monday at 8:43 p.m. with theft by shoplifting after she attempted to take $96.12 of household and clothing items, including seven sets of curtains, from Fred’s Dollar Store in her purse.

She remained incarcerated this morning in lieu of a $384 bond.
