CROWLEY – The Acadia Parish District Attorney’s Office has changed its mind, dropping an inciting charge against an Iota man.

The charge against Logan Fournerat was dismissed at the request of the DA’s Office, according to the case file.

Particulars about the charge, contained in a bill of information filed by DA Mike Harson’s office in July, were not available, since an affidavit was not included with the filing.

Without an affidavit there is no official, public summary of the time, place or circumstances leading to Fournerat’s arrest.

The DA Office’s investigative file is not public record and under court rules the state is not allowed to comment on the contents of such files.

Similarly, the dismissal stands on its own.
