A Mass of Christian burial will be held Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Patterson for Mr. Edward E. Mensman, 80, a native of Morgan City and longtime resident of Patterson, who passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at 9:26 a.m. at his home.
Burial will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery. The Rev. Ruben Primor will officiate the services.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Jo Ann Justilian Mensman of Patterson; four children, Elizabeth Mensman of New Iberia, Kim Mensman of Purvis, Miss., Susan Mensman of Patterson and Tammy Mensman Moseley and her husband Allen of Broussard; one brother, Ward A. Mensman of Morgan City; 10 grandchildren, Daphney Wallake, Cade Doega, Glenn Jumonville, Tasha Lombas, Bobbie Jo Paul, Summer Mensman, Ethan Mensman, Joshua Moseley, Jacob Moseley and Michael Moseley; one niece; and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ward Alonzo Mensman and Eula Beadle Mensman; and an infant son, Michael Paul Mensman.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 9 a.m. until Mass time.
Pallbearers will be Allen Moseley, Joshua Moseley, Jacob Moseley, Michael Moseley, Cade Doega, Andre’ Justilian and James Vining. Honorary pallbearers will be Ethan Mensman and Glenn Jumonville.
