Cory Sauce Jr., 27, of Patterson was arrested Friday around 6 p.m. after a chase originating in Stephensville ended on Willow Street in Morgan City after Sauce lost control of his motorcycle, according to St. Martin Sheriff Ronnie Theriot.
Sauce is charged with:
—Aggravated flight from an officer.
—No driver’s license.
—Speeding 110 mph in a 55 mph zone.
—Two counts of passing in a no passing zone.
—No motorcycle endorsement on driver’s license.
—No license plate.
—No inspection sticker.
—May not pass between cars.
—Two counts of failure to signal when turning.
—Driving left of center.
—Improper lane usage.
—Four counts of passing on the shoulder.
—Following too closely.
Theriot said Sauce was driving 80 mph in a 55 mph zone when he passed a deputy in the Stephensville area.
He refused to stop for the police lights or siren and continued to travel at a high rate of speed from Stephensville to Morgan City. While doing so, he twice forced cars off the road. At one point he went in the wrong lane, forcing drivers to pull off the road to prevent being hit by him, Theriot said.
Sauce lost control of the motorcycle on Willow Street. He received injuries to his elbow and ankle and was transported to Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City by Acadian Ambulance where he was treated and later released.
Sauce remained incarcerated in the St. Martin Parish Jail this morning with bond set at $24,250.
