A Franklin man has been sentenced to 28 years at hard labor in connection with a December 2008 shooting death in Four Corners, according to reports from District Attourney Phil Haney’s office.

Emile Charles, 23, formerly of 704 Pecot St., Franklin, was sentenced Friday by 16th Judicial District Judge Charles L. Porter.

Charles had pleaded guilty in August to a charge of manslaughter in connection with the death of Roosevelt “Bundy” Johnson III on Dec. 23, 2008.

Johnson’s body had been found on Glencoe Road with a single gunshot wound in the back.
