Lawyer, civic leader

BATON ROUGE – Services will be Sunday for lawyer and civic leader Tom Phillips. He died Dec. 3 at age 93.

Phillips, raised in Sabine Parish, was former managing partner of Taylor, Porter, Brooks and Phillips. He was first chairman of the board of the Rural Life Museum and a charter member of City Club of Baton Rouge. He was on the advisory board of Bank One.

Survivors include his wife Billie and two sons.

Arrangements are by Rabenhorst.

Noted gastroenterologist

BATON ROUGE – Services will be Saturday for Dr. Barry Scott. He died Dec. 6 at age 66.

He was one of the founding members of the Digestive Health Center of Louisiana.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth, and three daughters.

Arrangements are by Rabenhorst.

Former principal, bus supervisor

SUNSET – Services will be Saturday for retired educator and transportation director Gabriel “Jimmy” Sibelle, Jr. He died Dec. 7 at age 73.

He was former principal of Bristol Elementary and Sunset High and served as St. Landry Parish supervisor of transportation.

Survivors include his wife Mona, a son and a daughter.

Arrangements are by Sibllle, Opelousas.
