Judith and Brent Allain, second photo, lit up downtown Franklin Thursday as the official lamplighters for the 2011 Christmas season. Bands, student groups, local officials, local pageant royalty, an entourage of golf carts and Santa Claus himself marched down Main Street leading the way to the lighting ceremony at the courthouse square. An impressive turnout of spectators enjoyed music, food and sales from local merchants as they visited with Santa and viewed Franklin’s new Christmas lights on Main Street and along the bayou side on Teche Drive.
