Eula M. Giroir Aucoin, a lifelong resident of Morgan City, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at Ochsner Medical Center.
Eula loved spending time quilting, sewing and raising birds.
Eula is survived by her eight children, Eula Aucoin of Morgan City, Clement Michael Aucoin of Patterson, Barbara Ann Sons of Houma, Katherine Ann Acosta of Stephensville, Twila Joy Davis of Florida, JoLane Marie Diaz of Alabama, Christine Denise Blanco of Patterson and Timothy John Powell of Morgan City; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, William Giroir of Oakdale; one sister, Doris “Totsie” Harrington of Patterson; along with her best friend, Ruth Landry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eula was preceded in death by her parents, Jean J. Ulysses and Marie Cora Giroir; her husband, Clement “Boogie” Joseph Aucoin; one daughter, Debra Ann Perera; two grandchildren, Jason Sons and James Joseph Henry; and one great-grandchild, Paden John Clements.
Visitation will begin today, Dec. 12, 2011, 6-9 p.m. at Twin City Funeral Home in Morgan City. A Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. The visitation will resume Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011, at the funeral home, 8-10:30 a.m., and a Mass of Christian burial will begin at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Morgan City.
Eula will be laid to rest in the Morgan City Cemetery following the Mass.
