A Patterson man was arrested for an alleged rape in Bayou Vista.

Aaron Hazel, 18, Main Street, Patterson, was arrested Tuesday at 8:58 p.m. and charged with simple rape.

The charge stems from an incident at an undisclosed residence in the Bayou Vista area on Nov. 25, St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert said.

He remained in the Parish Jail this morning with no bond set.

Hebert said the investigation is ongoing, but no further information was available at this time.

Lisa Dawon, 46, Aucoin Street, Amelia, was arrested Saturday at 10:24 p.m. and charged with first-offense driving while intoxicated, possession of crack cocaine, no driver’s license and headlights required.

She was arrested after she was stopped on Aucoin Street in Amelia for the headlights violation.

She remained in the Parish Jail this morning with no bond set.

A two-car accident around 5:30 p.m. Friday sent two to the hospital.

Paula Arceneaux, 53, of Patterson was westbound on La. 182 in Berwick near the Stazione gas station.

Katherine Russo, 20, of Morgan City exited the U.S. 90 bridge and ran a red light hitting Arceneaux’s vehicle broadside, Berwick Police Chief James Richard said.

Both women went to Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City for treatment of their injuries where they later were released.

Acadian Ambulance, Berwick fire and police departments and Morgan City extrication responded to the incident. The roadway was cleared in approximately one hour, Richard said.
