Medical administrator

NEW IBERIA – Services will be Thursday for medical administrator and author Francis “Mel” Manning. He died Dec. 13 at age 75.

He was administrator of the Hamilton Medical Group in Lafayette for 11 years and prior to that was administrative director of the medical group at Oschner Clinic, New Orleans.

He was published in many professional journals and edited a book on medical group practice management. He was on the boar of trustees of Regional Medical Center and University of South in Sewanee, Tenn.

Cattleman, planter

ETHEL – Services will be Thursday for prominent cattleman and cotton planter J. Tim White, III. He died Dec. 10 at age 72.

He was a director of Red River Valley Bank and the Caddo/Bossier Cattleman’s Association. He also raised and raced thoroughbred horses.

Survivors include his wife Ada, two sons and a daughter.

Arrangements are by Osborn, Shreveport.
