A special meeting of the St. Mary Parish School Board will be held Thursday to receive the fourth redistricting plan from the board’s demographer.

A public hearing is slated to be scheduled to receive input on the parish’s redistricting plans. Public hearings have been scheduled and cancelled several times regarding this matter as new plans have been created.

Also on that agenda is consideration of two more policies relating to legislative updates. The board’s policies must keep up with changes made in the 2011 state legislative session. The majority of those policy shifts were done during the board’s regular meeting Thursday.

A cooperative endeavor agreement between the St. Mary Parish Government, school board and a number of other groups is up for consideration. The published agenda does not give any further information regarding this item.

The meeting is slated for 5 p.m. Thursday at the Central Office Complex in Centerville and is open to the public.
