WEST MONROE – Police busted up a bumper car contest by drivers using handicap scooters at Walmart.

About 2:30 a.m., a group of apparently drunk suspects commandeered the store’s handicap scooters and started their bumper car game inside the store.

Most got away as the cops showed up, with only Christopher Butler, 22, being arrested.

He was described as “very intoxicated”, telling officers he had driven to the store after having five or six beers to meet his fellow competitors.
