Lafayette – The right lane of the I-10 Atchafalaya Basin Bridge will be closed in short sections in the eastbound direction from Jan. 10 until Feb. 10 between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m., said Michael Moss, DOTD district engineer administrator.

The right lane will only be closed in one to two mile continuous sections.

Beginning Jan. 10, weather permitting, work will take place Tuesday through Saturday and will resume Monday through Saturday for the duration of the project.

This work is necessary to repair damaged communication lines which run along the side of the bridge.

Emergency vehicles will have access to the area. No detour is necessary for this work.

"DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment," Moss said.
