Demolition began Wednesday afternoon in the 6900 block on Business U.S. 90 in Morgan City. The structure is owned by members of the Resignola family and was initially constructed around 1955. Renovating the building was determined to be more costly than tearing it down and rebuilding. The owners are still unsure whether they will sell the property or build to suit a prospective tenant.
