The Rev. Lloyd Dayle Seatvet, 81, of Denton, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2012, at Denton Regional Medical Center.

He was born Oct. 28, 1930, in Blair, Neb., to John Allen Seatvet and Fae Katherine Kieffer Seatvet. He served in the U.S. Army as a captain during the Korean War, where he received the Silver Star, Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart and Airborne Jump Wings (36 jumps).

He was a priest with St. David of Wales Episcopal Church in Denton. He married Dana Keiser on Nov. 9, 1951, in Toledo, Ohio. He was a member of Brotherhood of St. Andrew, Dodge City, Kan., Shade Tree Commission, Life Insurance Underwriters Association and Crime Stoppers of Dodge City.

Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 5, 2012, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at DeBerry Funeral Directors. The funeral Mass will be held Monday, Feb. 6, 2012, at 10 a.m. at St. David of Wales Episcopal Church with the Rev. Canon H.W. Herrmann, SSC, officiating. Burial will follow at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Dana Seatvet of Denton; sons, Mark Seatvet and wife Mary, John Seatvet and wife Jeannette, Eric Seatvet and wife Linda, Scott Seatvet and wife Melanie; grandchildren, Lori, Andrew, Sarah, Daniel, Matthew, Noah, Rachael, Emily and Madeline Seatvet; and a great-grandson, Colton.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to St. David of Wales Episcopal Church, Nashotah House, 2777 Mission Rd., Nashotah, WI 53058, or a charity of your choice.
