The Franklin Hornets rolled to a 59-53 District 9-3A victory over the Kaplan Pirates Friday at the FSHS Gym.
Avery Bell tossed in a game-high 19 points on six floor baskets along with 7 of 11 free throws to propel the Hornets. Jarion Brown bagged 14 points, making good on one trey, four deuces and 3 of 4 charity shots. Rounding out the scoring for the Hornets were: Micheal Polidore, 9; Cedric Paul, 8; Jamal Johnson, 4; Brennan Robinson, 3, and Eddie Stackhouse, 2.
Devonte Davis led Kaplan with 17 points.
Franklin (12-13, 6-3) will play host to the Erath Bobcats on Tuesday in league play.
