The krewes of Galatea and Amani held tableaus Saturday in the Tri-Cities area. The Krewe of Amani, top photo, presented King and Queen Amani XV Chad Triggs and Tori Walker. They represented Bourbon Street and Canal Street, respectively, in keeping with the theme, “Amani Takes to the Streets of New Orleans,” during festivities at the Bayou Vista Community Center. The women’s Krewe of Galatea, bottom photo, presented Queen and King of Galatea XLIII Mrs. Tommy Cheramie and Waddell C. Thibodaux Jr. In keeping with their theme, “The Spirit of Africa,” the royal couple represented Lioness Queen Malkia of the Jungle and Lion King Mfalme of the Jungle during festivities held at the Morgan City Municipal Auditorium. Next on the agenda for Galatea is its parade on Feb. 19 at 2 p.m. in Morgan City. Amani will present its Lundi Gras parade on Feb. 20 in Patterson.
