Sheriff Mark Hebert said the charges on Bannon L. Lightsey, 19, of Patterson, were amended to manslaughter. Cameron Gragg, 19, also of Patterson succumbed Sunday to the injuries he received in the Thursday fight at the Jessie B. Hayes Boat Landing.
Lightsey previously was being held for aggravated second-degree battery. He is incarcerated in the parish jail in lieu of a $500,000 bond.
Elsewhere, Bradley Kinkle, 17, of Shriever was arrested Monday at 5:07 p.m. for possession of Trazodone (anti-depressant).
St. Mary Narcotics Task Force agents were patrolling the Bayou Vista area when they conducted an investigative stop on several subjects walking on Saturn Road. Kinkle was found to be in possession of a Trazodone pill, Hebert said.
He was booked into the parish jail where he remained this morning with no bond set.
In Patterson, Christopher Haynes, 29, of Patterson, was charged at 3:15 a.m. today with hit and run driving, driving under suspension and on a failure to appear warrant for unauthorized use of an access card.
Haynes was arrested after an accident with another vehicle in the westbound lanes of U.S. 90 in Patterson, Chief Pat LaSalle said.
He remained incarcerated this morning with no bond set.
