Jury recommends death for minister's murderer

SHREVEPORT – A jury deliberated two hours before recommending the death penalty for murder Robert Coleman.

The jury earlier convicted Coleman, 41, of killing a retired minister.

In 2002, Coleman sbot and stabbed Julian Brandon on New Year’s Even when the former pastor answered the door of his Blanchard home.

Mrs. Brandon was also shot, but survived.
