Because he has three prior felony convictions for theft over $500, distribution of cocaine and possession of cocaine, he faces a sentence of 45 years to life as a habitual offender.
The judge must find Trosclair is a fourth felony habitual offender under Louisiana Law.
On Feb. 3, 2010, the St. Mary Parish Sheriff Narcotics Task Force received a complaint of drug activity on Mallard Street at Brownell Homes in Morgan City. They went to that location and observed Trosclair throwing down a bag of cocaine.
Brownell Homes is a public housing authority and, therefore, a designated drug-free zone.
A local teen was charged on drug distribution warrants Thursday.
Bradley Kinkle, 17, of Adelle Street in Stephensville was arrested at 1:39 p.m. on a warrant for distribution of Lortab.
He was being held in the parish jail on other charges, and remained incarcerated this morning with no bond set.
