A great egret is chased by an anhinga near oil equipment, providing an interesting dichotomy of nature versus mankind in the bayou region as seen during the Bayou Black tour with Cajun Man Black Guidry taken Saturday in conjunction with the Seventh Annual Eagle Expo. The anhinga is a bird of the southern swamps also known as the snake bird for its habit of swimming with only its long head and neck exposed above the water, while the great egret is actually a large heron and is common throughout the Americas.
