CROWLEY – The Acadia Parish Police Jury has had enough of butts at the courthouse.

The jury on Tuesday night voted to ban, as early as March 1, smoking anywhere on the Courthouse Circle.

The issue came out of a committee meeting where littering of the grounds with cigarette butts was discussed.

Jurors agreed to a grace period, allowing a two-week adjustment before enforcement begins.
