State Police said Moneshia Eligwe, 24, of Jeanerette died in the accident at the intersection of La. 675 about 1:30 a.m.
She was hit by a pickup driven by Michael Johnson, 52, of West Monroe.
Police said impairment is not suspected on the part of Johnson, but it is unknown if Eligwe was impaired.
During their investigation, troopers discovered Eligwe had been involved in a prior two-vehicle crash at the same location.
After exiting her vehicle, Eligwe sat down in the right lane of US Highway 90. Both crashes remain under investigation.
