THE MORGAN CITY 8-year-old all-stars were crowned District II Champs this past weekend during the district tournament at Patterson Junior High School. The squad went 4-0 in the tournament, defeating Franklin, 35-25; Patterson, 41-26; Opelousas, 41-39; and then Opelousas again in the championship game, 33-20. On front row are Dakota Gibson, Brett Morell, Kye Morgel, Kyler Paul and Lonnie Kinchen. On the second row are Daviaidyione Bias, Jackson Butler, Nylan Francis, Donald Lewis, Keyala Hawkins and Kilin Crappell. On the back row are coaches Nigel Smith, Mark Morell and Donald Lewis.
