Adam J. Leonard, a resident of Monterey, passed away at the age of 78 in Patriots Path, the Palliative Care Unit of the Alexandria VA Medical Center.

Mr. Leonard was born in Belle River on Nov. 2, 1933, and went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012.

He is survived by five children, Randy Leonard of Mobile, Shirley Settoon of Denham Springs, William Dennis of Pierre Part, Debra Rock of Patterson and Gerald Myers of Franklin; one brother, Irvin Leonard of Bayou Vista; one sister, Shirley DeHart of Belle River; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Claudia W. Leonard; his parents, Aljie and Beulah Leonard; three brothers, Raymond, Stanley and Nolan Leonard; and one sister, Grace Chassion.

Mr. Leonard’s service will be held at Monterey Pentecostal Faith Temple in Monterey on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at 2 p.m. with interment following at Eva Pentecostal Church Cemetery.
