Beth Erwin, Louisiana Garden Club Federation Wildflowers and Native Plants chairman, provided a Power Point presentation on wildflowers and other native plants that are grown in Louisiana. She is the curator of the Kalorama Nature Preserve in Collinston and secretary of the Louisiana Native Plant Society.
The informative program included identification, selection and maintenance of native plants in the landscape.
Donna Bucci, BVGC vice president and program chairman, presented Erwin with a gift of appreciation.
A preview of the upcoming Hypertufa Workshop for BVGC members was given by Bucci. Sample containers were displayed and the basic materials and processes were discussed.
Hostesses for February meeting were Kim Alcina and Jo Ann Ryan.
The floral design, “Second Lime,” was created by Alcina. Plant material included limes, daisies, verbena, and Butter Dock (Rumex obtusifolius).
Bucci was the door prize winner.
