BOYCE – Services will be Tuesday for former Major League Baseball relief pitcher Terry Mathews. He died Feb. 24 at age 47.
Mathews’ major league career covered 13 years. He pitched for Texas, Houston, Floria, Baltimore and Kansas City. He was a member of the Northeast Louisiana University Hall of Fame.
After retirement, he was a coach at Menard High and a Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Dept. School Resource Officer.
Survivors include his wife Emily, a son and two daughters.

Long-time TV exec
ALEXANDRIA – Services for long-time TV executive and professional bass angler Les Golmon will be Wednesday. He died Feb. 24 at age 70.
He was with KALB-TV for 49 years, and general manager when he retired. He was past president and board member of the La. Association of Broadcasters and active in a number of civic organizations.
Golman was the Louisiana BASS top fisherman award winner for three years. He was a leader in the Saline-Larto Lakes Restoration Project.
Survivors include his wife Judy, a son and two daughters.

Six-decades attorney
NEW ORLEANS – Services for long-time attorney Michael Bagot will be Thursday. He died Feb. 25 at age 89.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the World War II battles of Tarawa, Kwajalein, Eniwetok, Guam, Saipan, Tinian, Leyte Gulf, Mindoro, Luzon and Okinawa. He practiced law for over 60 years.
He was past board president of Globe Homestead and was attorney to the Louisiana Fire Marshal and the Louisiana Firemen’s Assn. He was active in a number of professional and civic organizations.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth, two sons and four daughters.
Noted football player
LAFAYETTE – Services for honored Texas Tech football player King Sides, Jr. will be Tuesday. He died Feb. 24 at age 77.
He was a member of the Texas Tech Football Hall of Fame was a retired oil and gas geophysicist.
Survivors include his wife Sara, two sons and a daughter.
Arrangements are by Fountain Memorial.
Nurse, volunteer
NEW ORLEANS – Services for nurse and community volunteer Linda Adams will be Tuesday. She died Feb. 22 at age 81.
She was a registered nurse who worked at Cedars of Lebanon, Los Angeles and Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York before locating in New Orleans.
She was a charter member of Chi Eta Phi Nursing Society and a longtime board member the New Orleans Home for Incurables.
Survivors include a son and two daughters.
Arrangements are by Gertrude Geddes Willis.
Communication company owner
BATON ROUGE – Services were held for electrical engineer and communication company owner William Benham. He died Feb. 21 at age 72.
He was owner and president of Louisiana Telephone Co. and a founding partner of Data Technology Solutions.
Survivors include his wife Judith and two sons.
Glass company owner
BATON ROUGE – Services for glass company owner Nelson Bourgeois were Saturday. He died Feb. 23.
He was a U.S. Navy (Pacific Theater) veteran of World War II and founder of Louisiana Glass Co.
Survivors include his wife Marshall Ann.

Civic leader, businesswoman
CROWLEY – Services for civic leader and businesswoman Thelma Chappuis will be Tuesday. She died Feb. 23 at age 89.
She worked in the family business - Fogleman Truck Line - and was a former outstanding citizen of Crowley. She was a founding member of the Child Activity Club and instrumental in establishing the Crowley Christian Care Center.
Survivors include a son and four daughters.
Arrangements are by Geesey-Ferguson.
Vet Affairs advocate
BOSSIER CITY – Services for long-time Veterans Affairs service officer Albert Pumilio will be Wednesday. He died Feb. 25 at age 74.
He was a decorated veteran of two tours in the Vietnam War and retired U.S. Army master sergeant. He was a former Shreveport police officer and an ROTC instructor.
Survivors include his wife Linda and four children.
Arrangements are by Rose-Neath.
Long-time pediatrician
NEW ORLEANS – Services for long-time pediatrician Dr. Stuart Farber will be Tuesday. He died Feb. 25 at age 83.
He practiced medicine more than 40 years was was on the staff of Childrens Hospital for 28. He was a preceptor and teacher in the Dept. of Pediatrics at Tulane University for years and a founding board member of The Parenting Center.
Farber was a past board member of Touro Synagogue and a docent at the National World War II Museum from its inception.
Survivors include his wife Cynthia and a daughter.
