Updates on all three phases of roadwork in Morgan City will be presented during Tuesday’s meeting of the mayor and council.

Phase I consists of the complete overlay of Sixth, Second, Union and Third streets along with Ditch Avenue. That work is set to begin next week.

Phase II is concrete repairs on David Drive, Veterans Boulevard and Youngs Road. Bids will be received at the council meeting for this phase.

Phase III is reconstruction of portions of Victor II Boulevard. Work there will include fixing the subsurface, as well as overlay and patching. Because it is a more extensive project, engineers at T. Baker Smith are being contracted to assist the city. The engineering contract should be approved Tuesday as well.

Also on the agenda is the awarding of bids for Lake End Park cabins and a discussion of the need for redistricting due to the 2010 census.

The meeting is slated to begin at 6 p.m. at the City Court Building, La. 182 in Morgan City, and is open to the public.
