A Morgan City man was arrested in Four Corners for hit and run driving over the weekend.

Dwayne Gray, 52, of Arizona Street in Morgan City was arrested Saturday at 10:21 p.m. for hit and run driving, careless operation of a motor vehicle and driving under suspension.

A deputy was called to the Four Corners Civic Center, where he was told that the complainant was at the intersection of La. 318 and U.S. 90, stopped at the red light, when the suspect’s vehicle hit her in the rear. He got out of his vehicle then got back in and left the scene, Sheriff Mark Hebert said.

The suspect vehicle, driven by Gray, later was located in Landry’s Truck Stop parking lot with no driver. The deputy made contact with the registered owner and learned that Gray was driving the vehicle but was not at home. The deputy was called to the residence when Gray arrived home, Hebert said.

Gray was arrested and issued a summons to appear in court.
