The St. Mary Soil and Water Conservation District held its annual Locally Led Conservation Meeting Wednesday on the fourth floor of the St. Mary Parish Courthouse. Some 35 interested people attended to help in identifying valuable resource concerns in the parish. State Resource Conservationist Scott Edwards, first photo, was key speaker. He addressed upcoming changes in Farm Bill legislation. During the meeting, awards were presented to (not pictured) Ronnie Rodriguez of Oday Rodriguez, LLC for his participation in the Migratory Bird Habitat Initiative, and Adam Carmichael of the Natural Resource Conservation Service for his continued efforts in engineering assistance to St. Mary Parish farmers.
